Don’t neglect what needs to be done.

“Just do it.” Great slogan, Nike.
Not very specific, but we get the idea.
To be clear, it doesn’t mean “just do it.”
It means “just do it.”

Just do your best. Just get it done.
Don’t just do it.
But what if you fail? Well, if you do your best and get it done, then there’s a LESSER chance of failing; as opposed to not doing your best, not getting it done, or not turning something in, which nearly guarantees failure.

Not perfect doesn’t mean failing. Or maybe it does, to perfectionists, but they’re just going to have to live with that because no one is perfect all the time. This is a lesson that I’ve had to learn myself, and, in many ways, I’m still learning. Not being perfect is disappointing, to a perfectionist. But to a humble learner, it can be seen as motivating, as an opportunity to grow, and as a challenge to get better.

It’s great to strive for perfection. You can be perfect sometimes, or get a perfect score on something, or do everything right for a day, and that feels wonderful, but you’re not perfect. No one is. Everyone foolish. Realizing that and accepting it is one of the great enlightenments, a major key to inner happiness.

If you do your best, and it’s NOT perfect, that’s good! Now you have feedback on what can be done better. At least it got DONE. You DID IT.

Done is better than perfect. An important lesson I’ve had to learn.

Just get it done, and then figure out the necessary changes from there.
But if you never get it done, you’ll never figure out what you didn’t know, and never figure out what needed to be changed!

Quitting is an automatic lose. Just get it done.
