Disclaimer: Formulas are useful, even beautiful. But we must also understand the CONCEPTS (ideas) and the CONTEXT (situations) from which the formulas were developed. If you can understand the concept, then you won’t have to memorize the formula.
Knowing what the formulas are, and how to use them, is not as cool as knowing where they came from, and why they work.
For example, why is the area of a rectangle equal to the base•height, while the area of a triangle is equal to (1/2)•base•height?
Also, knowing what E=mc² actually means is way cooler than just knowing the formula.
It’s easy to just plug numbers into a formula, but be aware that there is a mathematical concept behind each and every formula.
Heck, you could make up your own formulas if you’re observant. Stay curious!
